This is the order the product actually imposes, and the budget question comes first on purpose. Everything after creation — settings, design, publishing, editing products — is free on every plan, so the expensive moment is the beginning, not the maintenance.

Create the store and pick its address
When you create the store you also choose where it lives. On Basic and above you type the address segment you want; on Free one is generated for you. Two things are worth knowing at this exact moment rather than later: the name has to be free across Posty5, and you are not locked in — the address can be changed afterwards from the store's settings, under the same plan rule. What is fixed is the rest of the URL: your own domain cannot be pointed at the store.
Choose a template and add products
Pick one of the two storefront templates, then arrange the sections you want on the home page. Add products next. Images can be supplied by URL on any plan; uploading image files is a paid-plan feature, so on Free you will be linking to images hosted elsewhere. If your catalogue already exists in a spreadsheet, import it rather than typing it in.
Open the countries you deliver to
Open each country you deliver to and give it a fee. Then add exceptions only where reality disagrees with that fee — a city that costs more, a region you will not reach. Leave a country's fee blank to fall back on your store-wide default, or set it to zero to mean free delivery, which is a real answer rather than an empty one. See how delivery countries and fees resolve.
Set how the checkout behaves
Decide whether shoppers can check out as guests, whether a cart is used at all, which currency prices are shown in, and what your order numbers are prefixed with. Payment needs no setup: cash on delivery is offered as a method like any other, and the checkout only shows a payment step when there is more than one to choose between. Read what the checkout asks for.
Publish, then place a test order
Publish the store, then buy something from it yourself. A test order is the fastest way to see the whole pipeline at once: the fee your rules produced, the order number you were given, the tracking link the customer receives, and the confirmation email if you have those enabled. Cancel it afterwards and the stock goes back.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a store cost to create?
Editing, settings, design and publishing are free on every plan. Compare the plans.
Can I change the store address after creating it?
Yes, from the store's settings, on Basic and above, provided the name is not already taken.
Can I use my own domain name?
No. Only the address segment is yours to choose; the rest of the URL is Posty5's.
Do I need a payment provider to start?
No. Checkout is cash on delivery, and it needs no credentials and no setup.
Can I upload product images on the Free plan?
Images can be supplied by URL on any plan. Uploading image files needs a paid plan.
What if I run out of credits mid-setup?
Products stop being addable until credits return, but a published store keeps taking orders — order handling runs on credit debt.
