How Posty5 Uses X

Posty5 uses X exclusively for the Social Publisher feature, allowing you to publish content to an X account you own or manage. Publishing to X is available on Pro and higher plans. Here is why Posty5 requests access to X:

• Connect an X account
• Publish text, image, and video posts to X
• Post an optional reply under posts you published with Posty5
• Show the engagement numbers of posts you published with Posty5

Posty5 does not use X to read your timeline, follow accounts, like or repost, send direct messages, or publish anything you did not choose to publish.

Connect Your X Account

You connect X by signing in to your X account and approving the connection on X, using X's OAuth 2.0 sign-in. Posty5 never sees your X password.

Connecting an X account needs the Pro plan or higher, because every post Posty5 publishes to X is paid for through the X API.

Permissions Posty5 Requests from X

Posty5 asks X for these permissions and uses each one only for the purpose listed:

• users.read: reads the connected account's ID, username, name and profile picture, so Posty5 can show which account is connected.
• tweet.read: reads the public numbers (likes, reposts, replies, quotes, bookmarks and views) of posts you published with Posty5, to show them on the post page.
• tweet.write: publishes the posts and optional replies you choose, and deletes a post you published with Posty5 when you ask Posty5 to delete it.
• media.write: uploads the images and videos you attach to a post.
• offline.access: keeps the connection working so scheduled posts can be published while you are away, without asking you to sign in again.

Publish to X

After you connect an account, you can create a post in Posty5 and publish it to X together with your other connected accounts. Posty5 can:

• Choose the X account to publish to
• Write up to 280 characters, or attach up to 4 images or 1 video
• Add a poll or quote another post
• Publish now, or schedule the post for later on the Pro plan
• Track publishing status

Posty5 counts characters the way X does and only publishes content you select, to the account you choose, when you confirm the post.

Connecting X Is Optional

You do not need X to use Posty5. Posty5 asks to connect X only when you choose to publish to it.

• You can use every other Posty5 tool without connecting X.
• You can publish to your other platforms without an X account.
• The connection is only made after you approve it on X.

You Stay in Control

You decide which X account Posty5 can use and for how long.

• Choose which X account to connect.
• Disconnect the account from Posty5 at any time via your connected accounts.
• Revoke Posty5's access from the connected apps in your X settings at any time.

How We Handle X User Data

Posty5 stores the access and refresh tokens issued by X, along with the connected account's ID, username, name, and profile picture. These are used solely to publish your selected content, display the connected account, and track the number of posts published via Posty5.

Posty5 does not sell X data, does not use it for advertising, and does not share it with anyone except the service providers needed to run Posty5.

Your use of X is also governed by X's own terms and privacy policy.

Deleting Your X Data

When you disconnect an X account in Posty5, Posty5 deletes the stored tokens and the account's details straight away. Revoking Posty5 in your X settings stops all further access.

To ask for any other data Posty5 holds about you to be deleted, contact us and we will delete it.

How the X Integration Works

1. Open Posty5 Social Publisher
2. Choose to connect your X account
3. Sign in to X and review the requested permissions
4. Approve the connection
5. Create a post and select X as a destination

You can disconnect the account at any time, and posts already published stay on X.
