How Posty5 Uses Threads

Posty5 uses Threads in the Social Publisher feature only, so you can publish your own content to a Threads profile you own or manage. This is why Posty5 asks to connect to Threads:

• Connect a Threads profile
• Publish text, image, carousel and video posts to Threads
• Post an optional reply under posts you published with Posty5
• Show the engagement numbers of posts you published with Posty5

Posty5 does not use Threads to read your feed, follow profiles, read other people's replies, or publish anything you did not choose to publish.

Connect Your Threads Profile

You connect Threads by signing in to your Threads profile and approving the connection on Threads. Posty5 never sees your Threads password.

Threads access lasts 60 days and Posty5 renews it automatically while the profile stays connected. If it cannot be renewed, Posty5 asks you to reconnect.

Permissions Posty5 Requests from Threads

Posty5 asks Threads for these permissions and uses each one only for the purpose listed:

• threads_basic: reads the connected profile's ID, username, name and profile picture, so Posty5 can show which profile is connected and link each published post to Threads.
• threads_content_publish: creates and publishes the text, image, carousel and video posts you choose, at the time you choose.
• threads_manage_replies: posts the optional reply you add under a post you published with Posty5, and applies the reply setting you choose for the post.
• threads_manage_insights: reads the views, likes, replies, reposts, quotes and shares of posts you published with Posty5, to show them on the post page.
• threads_delete: removes a post you published with Posty5 from Threads when you ask Posty5 to delete it.

Publish to Threads

After you connect a profile, you can create a post in Posty5 and publish it to Threads together with your other connected accounts. Posty5 can:

• Choose the Threads profile to publish to
• Write up to 500 characters, or upload images and videos selected by the user
• Choose who can reply to the post
• Publish now, or schedule the post for later on the Pro plan
• Track publishing status

Posty5 only publishes content you select, to the profile you choose, when you confirm the post.

Connecting Threads Is Optional

You do not need Threads to use Posty5. Posty5 asks to connect Threads only when you choose to publish to it.

• You can use every other Posty5 tool without connecting Threads.
• You can publish to your other platforms without a Threads profile.
• The connection is only made after you approve it on Threads.

You Stay in Control

You decide which Threads profile Posty5 can use and for how long.

• Choose which Threads profile to connect.
• Disconnect the profile from Posty5 at any time from your connected accounts.
• Remove Posty5's access from your Threads settings at any time.

How We Handle Threads User Data

Posty5 stores the access token Threads issues and the connected profile's ID, username, name and profile picture. They are used only to publish the content you choose, to show you which profile is connected, and to show the numbers of posts you published with Posty5.

Posty5 does not sell Threads data, does not use it for advertising, and does not share it with anyone except the service providers needed to run Posty5.

Your use of Threads is also governed by Meta's terms and the Threads privacy policy.

Deleting Your Threads Data

When you disconnect a Threads profile in Posty5, Posty5 deletes the stored access token and the profile's details straight away. Removing Posty5 from your Threads settings stops all further access.

To ask for any other data Posty5 holds about you to be deleted, contact us and we will delete it.

2. Choose to connect your Threads profile
3. Sign in to Threads and review the permissions it asks for
4. Approve the connection
5. Create a post and choose Threads as a destination

You can disconnect the profile at any time, and posts already published stay on Threads.
